I thought that I would start this blog because I am a real bargain hunter and I really wanted to let everyone know of ways of saving money on-line. I also have set up another blog:to assist you with making money on-line: http://www.makingmoneyon-line.blogspot.com/
I hope that you find the information useful because I don't know about you but I am shopping more and more on-line: grocery shopping, books, CD's DVD's, Christmas, birthday presents etc.
I am ALWAYS up for a bargain. So here are my tips:
1. Shop around
Use a price comparison website to compare items that you want to buy. This could be anything from shoes to a personal loan. You will be amazed by what you can save - just don't forget to take into consideration the cost of post and packaging (shipping).
moneysupermarket.com(this is one highly publicised one)
confused.com (I really recommend this one - I did 'save a bundle'!)**
If you are really cunning - get a quote from confused.com and then link through to the insurance provider via ipoints.co.uk or mrscashback.com (see below) and get rewards too!
2. Join as cashback or reward scheme. Have a look at:
mutualpoints.com
mrscashback.com - http://www.mrscashback.com/refer/?MM81042*
ipoints - http://www.ipoints.co.uk/join/?raf=6461369 *
greasypalm - http://www.greasypalm.co.uk/r/?l=655743*
Whenever you want to buy anything on-line it is an added bonus to save money on-line too. Go to one of these sites and have a look at their 'merchants', then go to the merchants website via them. Depending on how much you spend with the merchant will depend on how much cash or points you will be credited with.
e.g. say you were looking for a dishwasher and you knew where you wanted to buy it from (e.g. Currys). Go to ipoints and look up Currys - click on the link that takes you to Currys and make your purchase as normal. You will be given points for buying something that you were already going to buy. These points can be redeemed for all sorts of things.
There also tends to be some good rewards for buying insurance. Check out their offers but be careful because some of the featured insurance providers are much more expensive.
* These links show that I have referred you. When you have signed up you will be able to refer your friends too and get rewarded for it!
3. Try ebay
You never know you maybe able to buy exactly what you want from ebay. It maybe new or it maybe second hand but you can often grab yourselves a bargain. Don't forget to watch out for the postage and packaging (shipping) costs as sometimes it makes it less worth while buying from there.
I tend to buy things which are a little out of the ordinary, for example my son loves Spiderman and I wanted to buy him some rollerskates. Unfortunately I couldn't find any Spiderman skates in the usual retailers so I tried ebay. I managed to buy a new pair of Spiderman skates, knee and elbow pads for about the same that it would have cost be to buy the skates alone in High Street - plus they were Spiderman ones!
You won't be just saving money on-line you may also be able to buy something that you can't get on the High Street
4. Use coupons or discount codes
When you are making a purchase on-line check out a couple of these websites to get voucher or discount codes in order to make a saving:
vouchercodes.com
myvouchercodes.co.uk
discountcodes.co.uk
Don't forget to link to your purchase page via ipoints or Greasypalm etc. first as you might as well cash in while you can!
I use these everytime I buy my shopping on-line from Tesco - check out the link in the side bar!
